CZ/PL 88 Mini Patch Library

The CZPL 88 mini combines the features of the discontinued CZPL Patch Library and PL88 Memory Module into one compact package.

While the CZPL and PL88 had 2 sets of MIDI In/Out jacks, the CZ/PL 88 mini has one set of MIDI In/Out jacks, which can be configured in 2 ways:

LOOP:

In this mode the CZ/PL88 mini can save as well as load patches to your favorite synthesizer, but the synth’s MIDI in port is occupied.

THRU:

In this mode the CZ/PL88 mini can only load patches to your favorite synthesizer, but the synth can also receive MIDI from the outside world.

What is it?

The CZ/PL 88 mini offers thousands of preloaded patches for many brands of synthesizers. It also allows you to save patches and banks that you have created on your favorite synthesizer. No more tracking down expensive RAM catridges or having to resort to a computer. Lastly, it features a very nice arpeggiator.

It works especially nicely with the Casio CZ series of synthesizers, for which it was originally designed.

How can I get one?

Please read all of the following before ordering:

  • The CZ/PL 88 mini box is 3D printed. 3D printed parts have a textured appearance, please see photos above so you know what you are getting.
  • The CZ/PL 88 mini has a single set of MIDI ports. Most of the videos on this site show the CZPL or PL88, which had 2 sets of MIDI ports. These products are no longer available.
  • US customers: Returns offered within 7 days of receipt, with evidence that the CZ/PL 88 mini is defective electronically or physically. Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer.
  • International Shipping: NO RETURNS. The extremely high shipping cost, possible customs problems and chance of damage when shipping outside of the US means that I cannot offer any returns or exchanges to international customers.

The latest firmware version is 5.04. To determine your device’s firmware version, unplug your CZPL and plug it back in again. Immediately after the CZPL “splash” appears, your firmware version will be displayed. If you would like to upgrade your firmware, please contact me for directions.
